Starting with the history of the term 'chaplain', the cloths and kits of the field chaplain are displayed with religious artifacts used to provide comfort. There are also displays of poignant items - from a melted field bag of a chaplain killed in Vietnam, to pieces of the Pentagon wall scorched in the 9/11 attack, where chaplains provided last rites to victims and spiritual support to rescuers.
