Radisson Cable Beach & Golf Resort GOLF NEWS -
RADISSON CABLE BEACH & GOLF RESORT - NASSAU, BAHAMAS NEWLY REDESIGNED GOLF COURSE IN NASSAU, BAHAMAS - The much-anticipated transformation of Nassau's first public golf course into a challenging, multi-faceted course has been unveiled and all 18 holes are now open for play at the RADISSON CABLE BEACH & GOLF RESORT. The redesign features a reshaping of the course's fairways, repositioning of greens and the creation of new hazards and water-lined holes through two-thirds of the course. Better year-round playing conditions are insured by the addition of a salt-tolerant grass called paspalum, that is greener, firmer and more upright, withstanding the salty breezes and tropical climate, while offering a premium putting surface. The course's transformation was overseen by veteran designer and consultant Fred M. Settle, Jr. of International Golf Design, Inc. The redesign from this esteemed expert promises to propel the course's stature from one of local notoriety to being regarded as one of the finest resort courses in the world. DESIGNED FOR THE RESORT PLAYER, BUT CHALLENGING ENOUGH FOR LOW HANDICAPPER - The philosophy behind the new design was to re-create a spectacular course with a choice of tees to accommodate golfer of all skill levels - particularly the resort golfer. With four tees to play from, the par 71 course offers 6,453 yards from the blue tees; 6,001 yards from the white; 5,412 yards from the gold tees; and 4,755 yards from the red tees. Low handicappers looking for length, long carries, and a challenging round can play from the blue tees, while the beginner golfer hitting from the red tees will avoid all carries and find wide open fairways, large greens guarded by mounds, and few sand bunkers. The greens are large and receptive with a minimum of undulation, and are fun to putt. Approach shots to the greens provide the feel of hitting down to them, with an element of containment to keep balls from running astray. ALL-INCLUSIVE GREENS FEES - The Radisson Cable Beach & Golf Resort is the only resort in the Islands of the Bahamas to offer free golf as a part of its all-inclusive program. Greens fees are incorporated into the resort's all-inclusive vacation plan. This is just one of the many great incentives provided to guests of the resort. (A nominal cart fee per round is additional). Enticing greens fees are also available for the resort's room-only guests.
