Located on a 25-acre peninsula, the Cambridge Beaches resort recently reopened. Following a four-month, $9 million renovation, the property refurbished its cottage-style rooms, restaurant and the reception area. The resort's exterior received a fresh coat of paint and added new plumbing, underground electrical wiring, and landscaping. Also part of the overall renovation project, 18 new units bring the property's total room inventory to 92. The new units will include 12 deluxe rooms and six Cambridge suites, the property's highest room category. Cambridge Beaches offers five gardenview rooms, five waterview, 53 deluxe, 5 suites, and Windswept and Pegem houses that can accommodate up to four people each. Among on-site amenities are five beaches, an indoor and outdoor pool, spa and fitness facilities, tennis courts, a croquet lawn, and putting green. GROTTO BAY BEACH RESORT The 201-room Grotto Bay Beach Hotel & Tennis Club has undergone a $6 million refurbishment. there in building has been expanded and there are two new restaurants. The hotel plans another 79 rooms. Grotto Bay is a 21-acre landscaped estate of hibiscus, oleander and bougainvillea gardens in Hamilton. Rooms have balconies or patios offering panoramic sea views, and sports facilities are extensive. HARMONY
CLUB Bermuda's only
all-inclusive, adults-only property, is just outside Hamilton. Abundant in both historical
elegance and amenities, its traditional Bermudian cottage-style architecture projects the
intimacy of a private country hideaway in a setting of exquisite gardens. The only hotel
in Bermuda that is double occupancy only and also caters to adults only (guests are 18
years and over.) Small groups and incentive groups are welcome. PINK BEACH CLUB & COTTAGES 16-acre cottage colony in Tucker's Town just completed a three-year, $12 million restoration and renovation. The biggest development of this project is the Hidden Cove Condominium. It is the first beachfront condominium complex on Bermuda. The club's remaining cottages were refurbished. Upgrades include new furnishings, ceramic tile floors, soaking tubs, marble bathroom vanities, and large outdoor patio or balcony space. Room amenities now include individually-controlled air-conditioning, direct-dial phones with Internet access, safes, hair dryers, make-up mirrors, bathrobes, umbrellas, and irons/ironing boards. In addition, the food and beverage facilities have been improved. THE
REEFS Reopened in March of last year following the completion of its $5 million design renovation, the intimate, 67-room property - integrated the old structure with the new. The guest rooms have been completely remodeled. 11 suites were created, including 3 Point Suites and, at the south end of the property, Horizon Junior Suites on the upper level and the Atlantic Junior Suites on the lower level. In each, the bathroom wet area was expanded to feature an open, rain forest shower with a sandy granite floor, whirlpool tub and an illuminated, frosted-glass sink. Other amenities include more closet space, a balcony, flat-screen TV, and bar with refrigerator. The arrival area was redesigned with a circular drive and porte cochere entrance, surrounded by extensive landscaping and a decorative fountain. The kidney-shaped pool was expanded into the island's first Infinity pool, in which the water goes to the edge and seemingly trickles over the cliffs. STONINGTON BEACH HOTEL Features 67 rooms with terraces or balconies overlooking a dazzling, often secluded, beach. Low-key and elegant, located on one of the most desirable beaches of the South Shore. An excellent hotel for pampering, enjoying fine dining and magnificent sea views and beaches. SURFSIDE BEACH CLUB Offers forty-three guest units arranged in a semi-circle on 4.5 acres of dramatically landscaped oceanfront property. Each unit has a balcony or natural grass terrace and faces either south towards the ocean or in a westerly direction down the coastline, affording the soothing sounds of the ocean and surf to come through your window. The topography is unique. The heart of the complex, the swimming pool, with its spacious sundeck, the bar, and the restaurant lies at about 90 ft. above sea level. A system of pathways and stairs, bordered by flower beds, hibiscus, and oleander, lead to the lower units at 65 ft. above sea level and onward to the private beach. The highest unit on the property, Penthouse West, is perched near the top of the westernmost hill at a very lofty 130 ft. above sea level. |
